It was very confusing. First we were in a room, the journalism coach, one of my closest friends and him. He's gay... And in that dream he stayed by my side all throughout we were in the room, I think I was fixing something in a laptop. Then when I woke up from a nap, I saw that it was dark outside about 6 like that. Then I don't know where my best friend went, but the one I exited with was him. We were laughing I think, but when we got to a clearing we saw that there was an Aurora's in the sky. It was beautiful, but we were in the Philippines... So I told him that despite its beauty it was a sign of climate change... I asked him if he wanted to take a picture, he said it's bad to do so if it's a bad omen. Then we went to the parking lot where our service was. I don't know but in the dream he was shorter than me but in real life he's taller. I had my arms over his shoulder and we parted with a smile.
Dreams often serve as a window into our subconscious, reflecting our thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Your dream contains several elements worth exploring.
Setting and Characters: The dream takes place in a room with key figures in your life: your journalism coach, your closest friend, and the man who, in reality, is gay. The presence of your journalism coach suggests a connection to your aspirations and learning. Your closest friend represents your support system, while the man symbolizing comfort and camaraderie may point to unacknowledged feelings or the exploration of your own identity.
The Configuration of the Room: In the dream, the room seems to be a private space where you’re working on a laptop, indicating a time of preparation or contemplation. This could represent your desire to connect ideas—both academically (through journalism) and emotionally (through friendships). The act of fixing something on the laptop might symbolize a desire to resolve certain aspects of your life or relationships, suggesting a need for clarity or a new outlook.
Transitioning to Darkness and the Aurora: You mention waking from a nap to find it dark outside, which could symbolize a transition from consciousness to unconsciousness, or from clarity to confusion. The sudden darkness might reflect feelings of uncertainty or a lack of clarity about a situation in your waking life. As you exit with the man and encounter an aurora, there’s a stark contrast. The aurora serves as a powerful symbol of beauty and wonder, juxtaposed with your realization of climate change—a sobering thought that suggests you are grappling with dualities: joy vs. concern, beauty vs. reality.
Photography and Omen: Your discussion about taking a picture of the aurora reveals your awareness of the weight of experiences—wanting to hold onto beautiful moments, yet recognizing potential implications. Your friend’s reluctance to photograph the event as a “bad omen” suggests a sensitivity to how you and others perceive beauty and its consequences. It can symbolize a conflict between wanting to celebrate life's extraordinary moments and an awareness of the broader issues affecting your environment or life choices.
Height Difference and Parting Smiles: The inconsistency of height in the dream could indicate power dynamics in your relationship—perhaps feelings of being protective or close to one another, despite differences. When you part with a smile, it suggests a positive closure to that segment of your experience, a bond that is strong enough to transcend physical discrepancies. It can signify mutual respect and understanding, leaving you with warm feelings as you transition back to reality.
Overall Interpretation: This dream seems to be a rich tapestry woven with threads of personal growth, the exploration of relationships, the struggle between light and dark, and the balance between beauty and environmental awareness. It reflects your inner conflict about how to navigate significant friendships and emotions while keeping an eye on the bigger picture of your experiences in the world around you. There may be an invitation from your subconscious to embrace relationships that uplift you while being mindful of the truths that challenge you.
